Illustrations of various food from Japan. Japanese cuisine might just be might favorite and as my husband is Japanese, I have been learning to make traditional Japanese meals and draw them sometimes.
Food Postage Stamps
A fun mini-project featuring some of my favorite food from countries around the world, which I put together as my badge for They Draw and Cook’s Illustrators for Hire page.
Food and Drinks from Japanese Vending Machines
A collage poster of the coffee, juice, tea, soda, corn soup, and ice cream I got from vending machines in Japan. This took me much longer than I initially thought it would, because I underestimated how detailed the packaging of most of these products is!
Journey of Self-Discovery
A conceptual mind map I drew based on my experience in exploring my inner world. I created another version of this map to submit on They Draw and Travel.
Recipes for They Draw and Cook
Some illustrated recipes I contributed to the They Draw and Cook community. Food has always been something I liked to draw, so I can totally see this small recipe collection growing larger in the future.
Based on a favorite photo my husband took of me in the balcony of the charming little restaurant where our wedding took place, Spoon Eat + Drink in BF Homes, Paranaque. I drew this to practice using my then-newly-purchased brushes for Procreate.
I experimented with different types of brushes, from pencils to gouache, and added some textures to give life to the drawing.
Mother's Day Greeting Cards
A small collection of illustrated greeting card designs for Mother’s Day 2019. These were created for one of the assignments in Mary Kate McDevitt’s book Illustration Workshop.
An illustration inspired by my newfound love for plants and an early morning stroll in my neighborhood, where I came across many different amazing tropical plants, some with leaves twice the size of my head!
A Day in the Life
Drawings inspired by an ordinary day in my life as a stay-at-home wife and artist. I am inspired by the mundane everyday stuff like grocery shopping and organizing our home.
Random drawings of girls I collectively call my Paper Kitties.
Passion to Paid
My entry to Lauren Hom’s scholarship giveaway for her online course, Passion to Paid. The task was to create an artwork with the words ‘Passion Project’ using the creative skill that you’d want to be paid, post it on Instagram with a caption that talks about why you want to start a passion project and what winning the scholarship would mean to you.
I was fortunate enough to have been chosen as one of the fifteen scholars in 2019 and I am both thrilled and terrified to work on my project idea!
A small homage to one of my favorite food: Korean barbecue and all the delicious side dishes served with it.
