Hello! My name is Kat and I’m an artist and illustrator based in Manila, Philippines. The Paper Cat is a moniker I chose for myself back in 2013, based on my love for paper products, my name, and paper cut, which I often get thanks to my clumsiness.

I graduated from the University of the Philippines with a BA in English Studies. That’s right: I don’t have an art degree! And while I’ve been drawing my whole life, I didn’t get good until after college and only recently did I decide to try and pursue a creative career again. I enjoy drawing the things I love—food, faces, places, and plants and flowers—and learning and experimenting with new styles, tools, and mediums, both traditional and digital. These days I mostly work digitally on Procreate for the iPad Pro.

I am also a writer, feminist, self-help enthusiast, and ramen devotee. In my blog I write about my stories, my struggles, and my journey to becoming kinder and gentler to myself and to the world.

I hope that in the time you spend in my little corner of the universe, you find something that interests, or better yet, inspires you.
